California is looking to pass Assembly Bill 7. It has already passed the legislative process and is just awaiting a signature from Governor Jerry Brown. The bill will criminalize the carrying of a long gun in the unincorporated area of a county; and while this will not impact all Californians, it will affect some, and is a gross infringement of the Second Amendment.
The sale of rifles in California has surpassed that of handgun sales. According to visaliatimesdelta.com: “In 2016, California gun dealers sold 758,678 long guns — nearly double the previous year’s total of 397,231 long guns sales, according to the California Department of Justice Office of the Attorney General.”

It is in rural areas that this will be most imposed, with a $1000 dollar fine and/or a year in County Jail as punishment.
Any actions taken to circumvent the Constitution is a bad move and against the interest of the American people, but in California, it is particularly pernicious. You see, this won’t cause a problem for the urban city dwellers. It is a direct assault on those who live a more “country-based” life. You know…Conservatives.
It is a politically directed restriction that will infringe the rights of non-liberals and steamroller any complaints they make.
This directly hurts those who hunt. If they can’t openly carry a long gun, how are they going to hunt? It is part of a coordinated effort to crush anyone who doesn’t want to buy into the Globalist fantasy of large megacities where Democrats rule supreme.
