The nations that have military coups are usually classed as “developing” or in the old parlance “third world”. They are rarely bloodless and almost never result in a better form of government. So why is Chelsea Handler calling for the Generals of the United States to get together and depose President Trump?
“To all the generals surrounding our idiot-in-chief…the longer U wait to remove him, the longer UR name will appear negatively in history,” this is apparently the best political idea she can come up with. The truly maddening aspect is not that she seems to have zero knowledge of what historically happens during a military coup, but that she doesn’t seem to realise what would happen after.
Does she think that once the military seizes control of government that they give Hillary Clinton a phone call and tell her that her office is ready? It is not only a pathetic statement from Handler, it is also a statement that shows her utter contempt for the democratic process.
The Hollywood Liberals that have no understanding of the real world seem engaged in a “righteous battle” against the millions of people who cast a vote. If you don’t respect the president, that’s fine. But you should at least respect the Democratic process and institutions that allow you the freedoms to make your idiotic comments.
Chelsea Handler called for a military coup on Twitter on Friday.
The Netflix host, who has been outspoken in her dislike for President Trump, suggested he be removed by the military.
“To all the generals surrounding our idiot-in-chief…the longer U wait to remove him, the longer UR name will appear negatively in history,” she wrote.
The comedian’s comments were met with passionate negativity.
One social media user pleaded with Handler to think about what she asking for.
“Man, Chelsea. Do you think before you tweet? You really want the military to overthrow the President? Think about that for a moment.”
But some supported Handler. One fan wrote, “agree. But what we have in the WH is also misguided and dangerous. At this point who do we trust? (rhetorical question)”
Handler also posted a picture on Instagram on Thursday wearing a T-shirt that read, “Sorry about our president” in all different languages.
The photo was accompanied with the caption, “The shirt I wear now when I travel. Thanks to whomever sent it to me.”
