Rep. Al Green, a democrat from Texas, has officially called for the impeachment of Donald Trump. Green cites his reason as “Obstruction of Justice.” Green took to the floor of the House of Representatives Wednesday morning to officially call for the impeachment:
“I rise today, Mr. Speaker, to call for the impeachment of the President of the United States of America for obstruction of justice. We cannot allow this to go unchecked — the president is not above the law. It is time for the American people to weigh in.” – Al Green

House Oversight Committee Sets May 24 For Hearing If Trump Interfered In FBI Probe, Will Call Comey To Testify
Just after the news broke of Green calling for Trump’s impeachment, the house oversight committee announced they have scheduled a hearing for May 24th. They have called James Comey to testify. The committee wants to determine if Donald Trump interfered with the FBI’s investigation into Flynn.
The committee also sent a letter to the FBI asking for any records of any communications between Comey and Trump before May 24:
The committee did not say what they intended to do if they found evidence that Trump tried to interfere with an FBI probe.
