Glenn Beck has illegally seized Tomi Lahren’s social media properties according to “The Hill.” The publication wrote a story titled “Lahren negotiating with The Blaze over control of Facebook page.” This would imply Glenn Beck is illegally negotiating the ownership of a page he doesn’t own. Tomi Lahren’s Facebook page is verified to Tomi Lahren, not Glenn Beck. Neither Glenn Beck nor Lahren own the Facebook page, Facebook does. Facebook’s page terms also say a page may only be administered by the person or authorized representative of the person. The only people who can determine who runs Lahren’s Facebook page is Tomi Lahren and Mark Zuckerberg, not Glenn Beck:
A. A Page for a brand, entity (place or organization), or public figure may be administered only by an authorized representative of that brand, entity (place or organization) or public figure (an “official Page”).
The Blaze apparently doesn’t want to give up Lahren’s Facebook page that has amassed an audience of over 4,000,000 likes. The Blaze claims they own Lahren’s Facebook page. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Facebook owns the Facebook page. Tomi Lahren should pay attention to this lawsuit. A person ran a Facebook fanpage for a game show. The TV company who owned the rights to the gameshow wanted the Facebook page. Facebook took it from the fan and gave it to the company. The fan sued and lost.
Come on Beck
Glenn Beck fired Tomi Lahren. Give her control of her verified Facebook page. The people who clicked liked on the official Tomi Lahren Facebook page did so because they like Tomi Lahren, not Glenn Beck. Maybe Beck is just doing this because he’s upset that Lahren has more likes than he does? Whatever the reason is, Glenn Beck cannot negotiate who owns Lahren’s verified Facebook page. Only Lahren and Zuckerberg can do that.
