For reasons still unknown, Jorge Ramos of Univison agreed to go on Tucker Carlson. The two get into a very intense debate on immigration. The debate has several good moments, including when Tucker Carlson tells Ramos he is whiter than him. The debate focuses on the issues caused by illegal immigration. Carlson presents several facts supporting his point of view. This leaves Ramos saying “I don’t know if that’s true” several times as he is unable to respond. Ramos tries to present biased facts that paint illegal immigration as a benefit to America. Carlson presents facts that dispute this which leaves Ramos unable prove his case.

“15% of all federal inmates in America are Mexican citizens, that’s not a small number, that’s many many many thousands, doesn’t mean they are all bad, that’s a big number” – Carlson
“What’s your source, I don’t know if that’s true” – Ramos
“The bureau of prison, how’s that” – Carlson
“I don’t know if that’s correct” – Ramos
“So you don’t actually know anything” – Carlson
“I am an immigrant, just like many of you. I am a proud Latino immigrant here in the United States. My name is Jorge Ramos, and I work at Univision and at the Fusion network. And you know exactly what is going on here in the United States. There are many people who do not want us to be here, and who want to create a wall in order to separate us. But you know what? This is also our country. Let me repeat this: OUR country, not theirs. It is our country. And we are not going to leave. We are nearly 60 million Latinos in the United States. And thanks to US, the United States eats, grows and, as we’ve seen today, sings and dances. So when they attack us, we already know what we are going to do. We are not going to sit down. We will not shut up. And we will not leave. That is what we are going to do.” – Jorge Ramos
Weeks after making the above statement, when given the chance, Ramos was unable to back it up with any facts. Carlson completely dismantled Ramos, pointing out several times he didn’t know what he was talking about. Carlson delivered a barrage of facts to which Ramos continually responded “I don’t know if that’s true.” It sounds like Ramos was prepared to appear on CNN, and not on Fox News. Perhaps Ramos will learn his lesson this time, if you’re coming on the Tucker Carlson show, you’d better be prepared!
