A Russian Company called Slavitsa recently released an Ice Cream Bar to mock the US president.   The bar is named “Little Obama”, it features a young African-American child with an earring on the wrapper.   The bar is named “Obamka” in Russian.  It is your typical Chocolate glazed ice cream bar.

The Russian company claims there is no racism involved, and that the ice cream bar isn’t intended to mock anyone:

“With different flavors and glazes, the ice cream symbolizes the main races of people on our planet. With different flavors and glazes, the ice cream symbolizes the main races of people on our planet. Ice cream names need to be memorable. For those with a rich imagination, various associations might arise, but this product is for children and is a long way from politics.” – Slavitsa

Some aren’t buying it. A U.S. official, who declined to be named, told Reuters he saw the ice cream as part of a disturbing pattern.

“While I haven’t seen this particular product for sale, we are disappointed by the media-driven anti-Americanism that has become so prevalent in Russia over the past few years, particularly when it takes on a discriminatory or racist bent.” – unidentified official

Slavista is based out of Krasnoyarsk, the Siberian city that became famous last month after a cafe opened that featured Obama’s face on toilet paper and American flag floor mats.
